--------------------------------------------
The Royal College of Podiatry Annual Conference and Exhibition is one of the largest podiatry events in Europe and a key event in the calendar for all podiatrists. This year's conference, Podiatry 2024, will be held at the Harrogate Convention Centre from 28 to 30 November 2024.
Sign up to be an official Podiatry 2024 social media ambassador
We are now looking for social media ambassadors to report live from the event. The RCPod itself will be active on X (formely known as Twitter), Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram throughout the event, but we want to open up the floor to members who want to be involved.
By working with members who are also keen social media users, we hope to:
- Create and maintain the buzz around the upcoming conference
- Initiate discussions during the event itself; and through your efforts
- Reach different audiences such as patients, health practitioners, policymakers, health and science journalists, and many others.
To become a Podiatry 2024 ambassador, you need to be:
- A member of the RCPod
- Attending this year's conference, and
- Active on social media with an established, public presence on either X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and/or TikTok.
What we are looking for in volunteers
- Attendance at conference: you will need to attend the annual conference and share your thoughts about the content and sessions
- Creators of content in any language: we are interested in working with English and non-English content creators
- An established presence on social media: we are looking for podcasters, bloggers, tweeters, Instagrammers, YouTubers, TikTokers - any social media platform is great!
- An established audience: your audience may be interested in one specific clinical area or health issue or have a more general interest in podiatry.
What you'll do
- Post on your social media channels in the lead-up to the Podiatry 2024: share that you will be attending. We may invite you to share a short video of yourself, or get a quote from you about why you are attending, to be shared on one of our main accounts
- Post live during Podiatry 2024: videos, photos, quotes from sessions, live tweeting. We want to see (and share) your experience at Podiatry 2024
- Share your content using the official hashtage #Podiatry2024: use the hashtag so that we can see your posts and boost your content from the RCPod’s official accounts
- Interact with others using the hashtag before, during, and after Podiatry 2024
- Use your own voice and share your own opinions: we would like you to write in your own style and share content that suits your audience, but please make it clear that you are giving your own opinions and not speaking on behalf of RCPod
- Respond to comments and encourage discussion: discussion and debate is great! We are looking for people who use live tweeting and video content to encourage people to be active participants. However, we ask that you do not respond to abusive comments or comments not relevant to the matter under discussion. If individuals would like to raise issues with the RCPod outside the scope of the social media conversation, or have questions that the RCPod would be better suited to answer, please direct individuals to our Contact Us page
- Have a respectful voice and be a moderator: all posts and responses should be polite and respectful of others' views, even if you don't agree
- Share your final thoughts and takeaway learnings: we'd love you to reflect on the experience in a blog post. It may be possible to have your blog posted on the RCPod website.
What you'll get in return
- Complimentary access to all three days of Podiatry2024
- Recognition on the official Podiatry 2024 web pages
- Mention in The Podiatrist magazine: social media ambassadors will be featured in a news item in our professional magazine with links to your chosen social media accounts - great for increasing your audience but also identifying others you may wish to collaborate with
