Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

In early 2018, the Council appointed a Council Champion for Equality & Diversity (Chris Morris-Roberts). The role was created to lead on developing a strategy and driving a programme of work to demonstrate the College’s commitment to providing an environment free from discrimination, bullying, harassment or victimisation, where all members are respected and valued.

It was important that the development of this work was not just done internally with a few members of staff and Council.  To make it truly meaningful, it needed to be led by members representing as many groups as possible, identified by the list of protected characteristics outlined in the Equality Act 2010. So, in September 2018, we created a new member-led working group to drive this stream of work.

Since then the Group has been working with the College to develop the overarching strategy and to plan key streams of work for the College to focus on as part of making the strategy a reality.

The working group is open to any member who is passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and would like to get involved in this work. To get involved, please contact Diana Scott-Brown at diana.scottbrown@rcpod.org.uk
