Following recent events in Liverpool, and the raising of the UK terrorism threat level from substantial to severe, the ACC has reviewed its on-site security measures and has confirmed the following additional measures:

  • No vehicles can access the pedestrianised areas around the Convention Centre
  • Upon arrival, all delegates will pass through airport-style metal arches. The arches will detect large volumes of metal, not keys, mobile phones etc. We can change that setting though if intelligence is received from Merseyside Police to suggest that we do so
  • All delegates and staff will be required to wear conference accreditation at all times and this accreditation will be required to use on-site services such as cloakroom and catering points.
  • CCTV across the entire campus will be monitored 24/7.

A more detailed account of the heightened security measures in place at the ACC is attached.
