Artefacts

The archive collection includes various artefacts relating to podiatry and the history of the Royal College.

These broadly fall into three categories:-

  • Gifts - we have items given to the Royal College from visiting podiatrists or gifts given to us from visits abroad. For example, items were presented to Society representatives at conferences held by the International Federation of Podiatrists. Such items include: silver trays, statuettes and glass figures

  • Instruments – we hold various examples of podiatric instruments throughout the years. These include instruments, drills, strops and phials

  • Society artefacts – we also have items that showcase the history of the Society/Royal College. For example: a set of the Society Seals of Office, a ceremonial gavel and a wooden Benevolent Fund donation box.

We also have a number of artworks commemorating past presidents and chairmen.
