The draft guideline from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) covers the identification and management of menopause, including in people who have premature ovarian insufficiency.
It aims to improve the consistency of support and information provided to people experiencing menopause. It includes updated recommendations on the management of genitourinary symptoms and on the effects of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) on cardiovascular disease and stroke, breast cancer and dementia.
This guideline will update NICE guideline NG23: Menopause: diagnosis and management (published November 2015).
