Allied health profession support workforce and accreditation
Background
The main objective of this project was, ultimately, to increase the workforce supply into podiatry and ensure that the NHS recognises the knowledge and skills of the support workforce. This workstream supports the national AHP support workforce programme to undertake support workforce mapping across the AHP system to:
- Set out the scope of practice of the podiatry support workforce to maximise professional confidence in their skill set
- Recognise the value of these roles as part of a wider skill mix
- Develop education and training resources to maximise the role and scope of practice of the support worker
- Build on the AHP support workforce national project.
