Marion is in private practice and the principle podiatrist featured on the television programme The Bad Foot Clinic, airing on Really and Discovery+ from March 2024.

About Marion

Marion's journey in podiatry began with her graduation from the University of East London in 2008. She honed her skills at Whipps Cross Hospital and various NHS Care Commission Groups specialising in diabetes-related foot care. Her academic pursuits led her to studying her Masters degree in podiatry at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and another in health science from the University of Portsmouth. She is currently studying for a professional doctorate at the University of Bath with a focus on nail disorders.

Marion’s expertise took her from NHS clinics to the unique role of caring for inmates’ feet in His Majesty's Prison service. She’s travelled the world, educating others about nail disorders and contributing to esteemed publications. Embracing technology, she now specialises in advanced treatments for nail conditions and surgery. In 2019, she shifted her focus to private practice, balancing her professional life with the joys of motherhood. Her insights have graced television shows like The Doctors and she collaborates with her husband, Dr Kenny, on The Bad Foot Clinic, airing from March 2024 on Really and Discovery+.

What made you want to study podiatry?

I always liked helping people and taking care of people. A physiotherapist told me about podiatry while I was a physio/healthcare assistant. I was scrolling, looking to be a physiotherapist, and stumbled on a podiatry course and thought let's give it a go! It's the best decision I have ever made.

What is the best thing about your job?

The ability to alleviate pain and learn from patients' stories is what I find most fulfillng about my job. It's about making a direct, positive impact on people's lives.

What's the biggest impact you have had on a patient?

My work has empowered patients to regain confidence in their mobility. Feet are the foundation of our bodies, supporting us in every step we take.

What advice would you give someone considering a career in podiatry?

If you're passionate about healthcare and eager to make a difference, podiatry offers a unique opportunity to blend scientific knowledge with hands-on medical practice. It's a field where you can leave a lasting impact on patients' lives, one step at a time.
