The College understands the wider need for a licensing scheme. However, we believe that adding extra regulation to an already regulated profession, such as podiatry, offers little additional benefit to public safety
In February 2024, the Welsh Government asked for views on draft regulations and statutory guidance to establish a mandatory licensing scheme for acupuncture, body piercing, electrolysis and tattooing.
