Faculty of Podiatric Medicine
The Faculty of Podiatric Medicine is the advisory body on all matters relating to the educational needs of non-surgical practising podiatrists. Its role is:
- To advise on the policy and strategies for the development and implementation of CPD for podiatrists
- To act as a focus for special advisory groups (SAGs)
- To support the Conference Committee on the educational programme for the Annual Conference
- To support the approval process of short CPD courses leading to an extension of practice (excluding those relating to podiatric surgery) and to advise on the appropriateness of short course provision
- To administer the award of Fellowship of the Royal College of Podiatry in Podiatric Medicine (FRCPodM)
- To take whatever steps are necessary to keep the College adequately informed of all matters relating to the provision and quality of post-registration training activity
- To contribute to the achievement of the College’s strategic goals
- To advise on relevant guidance either nationally or professionally which will affect clinical and professional practice
The Faculty of Podiatric Medicine Committee
The Faculty of Podiatric Medicine is led by a Committee is made up of:
- An elected Dean and Vice-Dean who chair and oversee its work
- Chairs of the Special Advisory Groups (SAGs)
- The chairs of the CPSA and New Graduates network
- A member of Council
- A member of the Independent Practice network
- A member of the Public Sector Leadership network
- RCPod staff members including:
- Clinical Director and/or Head of Education
- Professional Support officers
- Education and CPD officers
The Committee has one face-to-face meeting per year and other meetings online. See meeting dates.
