Ethics

Clinicians in the NHS, universities and independent sectors will require professional support to conduct research and professional principles require practitioners to confine research activities to audits and simple service evaluations unless supporting mechanisms are in place.

(From Guidance on ethical considerations for members involved in research, audit or service evaluations.  Royal College of Podiatry. 2022)

From the above document, Guidance on ethical considerations for members involved in research, audit or service evaluations, by the Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) in 2022 a full and comprehensive guidance document has been produced. Unless a simple service evaluation or audit support will be required to acquire ethical approval. This can be with the support of a higher education institute: the RCPod can aid facilitation and connection via the Research, development and innovations committee pathway diagram.
