Joining the Royal College of Podiatry
1. Why have I not heard back about my application to join?
The easiest way to join the RCPod, is to join online. To start this process, go to the online join form.
If you have completed the join online process and not had confirmation, or requested to join the College via our contact form or by email and have not heard back, please email feedback@rcpod.org.uk

2. How do I login to the website? The forgotten password link isn’t working.
If you are having problems resetting your password or accessing the RCPod website, you will need to contact our Membership department at membership@rcpod.org.uk, who can look at your membership record and help you access the website.

Contacting the College
4. How do I contact different College departments?
There are two main ways to get in touch: by telephone or via our online Contact form.
- Fill in the Contact form with your query. Select your desired option. Your query will then go to the right team
- Or you can call our switchboard on 020 7234 8620. You will hear a list of options: please select the most suitable option for your query.
The Podiatrist
5. Why have I not received my copy of the magazine?
In May 2024, RCPod moved to a mostly digital distribution of The Podiatrist. Members were invited to opt in if they wished to continue receiving a printed copy. If you did not opt in to hard copy despatch at that time, but wish to continue receiving a printed copy of the magazine, you will need to update your communication preferences. Instructions on how to do this can be found here.
If you have checked that your communications preferences are set to receive a printed copy of the magazine, but you are still not receiving copies, please contact the Membership department via our Contact form and a member of the team will investigate the issue for you.
Find a Podiatrist
6. Why am I not listed on Find a Podiatrist?
The most likely reason is because you have not given the RCPod permission for your profile to be listed on our Find a Podiatrist service. To change this so that you are listed, you need to:
- Login to the members’ area of the website
- Once you are logged in, go to 'Profile' in the top menu
- Click on the tile that reads ‘Find a podiatrist profile’
- You can enter up to seven practices; make sure the details are correct
- Tick the statement that reads ‘I agree to sharing my practice information with the public'.
Insurance
7. How do I access my insurance certificate?
To access your insurance certificate, you need to:
- Login to the members’ area of the website
- Once you are logged in, go to 'Profile' in the top menu
- Click on the tile that reads ‘Insurance documents’
- Click the button that reads ‘View insurance policy’.

8. Am I insured to work on hands too?
RCPod members are fully insured to treat anything on the hand that you would treat on the foot including warts, in-growing nails, cutting nails, callus debridement etc. It is up to you if you choose to treat the hand: you do not have to offer this service.
9. Where can I find more information about the way in which I am insured through RCPod membership?
Visit our website to read more about how we insure our members. You can also read more about it in our leaflet about insurance.
Your membership subscription
10. When do I pay for my membership subscription?
If you pay by direct debit, you can choose whether to pay annually (single payment), quarterly (four payments) or monthly (ten payments).
To ensure that you do not stop receiving your membership benefits, including your insurance cover and access to legal support, it is always best to pay for your membership during the annual renewal period.
Renewals happen in January and February each year. If you join part-way through the year, you are invited to renew and pay for a full year at the next renewal cycle.
11. When do the Direct Debits come out?
- One full Direct Debit payment
If you are paying in full by one direct debit payment (whether at the start of the year, or at any other time on a pro rata basis) it is usually collected on the first day of the month. - Quarterly Direct Debit payments
Quarterly Direct Debit Payments are collected on 1 February, 1 May, 1 August and 1 November. If you join after 1 January, we can only collect the subscription in three payments and if you join after 1 April, we will only be able to collect two payments. - 10 Monthly Direct Debit Payments collected from 1 February to 1 November
If you join after 1 January we can only collect the subscription in nine payments and if you join after 1 February, there will only be eight payments and continue to decrease monthly.
12. Where do I get a direct debit form?
We no longer issue Direct Debit forms. You can opt-in to Direct Debit by completing the online join form. If you are currently paying by another method, but would like to switch to Direct Debit, call our Membership department on 020 7234 8620.
13. Why does it cost more to pay monthly instead of in one go?
We offer members a £5 discount on their membership subscription if they decide to pay in one full payment. Like many other subscription models, it’s often cheaper to buy in full, compared to staggered payments.
