As a member there is a wide range of volunteering opportunities available to you, from voluntary roles within the College, to volunteering at external events, to providing podiatry for charitable initiatives
Volunteering opportunities within the College
We are pround to have a network of hundreds of volunteer members who serve on our branches, our specialist advisory groups and our committees. They also represent the wider membership in roles such as workplace rep, student rep and graduate rep. Without their commitment and dedication we could not provide the level of service we do, both as a membership body and as a trade union.

There are also opportunities to mentor less experienced members of the profession.

Volunteering at events
Our members donate their time and expertise at a wide variety of public events. Clinical skills are always in demand and have been utilised at numerous prestigious sports events, such as the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. Members are also regularly invited to provide podiatry at the London Marathon.

Other members become ambassadors for the profession, going out into the community to deliver inspiring careers talks at schools, universities and careers conventions.
Volunteering for charity
We believe that healthcare should be accessible for all at the point of need. Through volunteering activities, our members make podiatry available to many who would not otherwise be able to access these services.
Thanks to volunteer podiatrists, podiatry is available to the homeless during the annual Crisis at Christmas initiative. The charity Forgotten Feet, based in Worcester and founded by an RCPod member, offers free podiatry for those most in need. Further afield, our members have been instrumental in embedding podiatry skills in leprosy clinics in Kolkata and refugee camps.
We are also immensely proud of the response of many of our members to the national crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many stepped in to assist with the national vaccination programme.
