Outcome of pay consultation in NHS England

Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) members vote to accept the pay offer in England
Following a consultation with members working for the NHS in England a majority of members have voted to accept the Pay Review Board recommendation of a 3.6% pay rise.
The full result was:
- In favour: 66%
- Against: 34%
The RCPod will now advise the Secretary of State of the outcome.
Speaking about the consultation, Deputy General Secretary, Martin Furlong said:
First of all, thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation – it is always important we hear the voice of our members.
Secondly, whilst the majority accepted the recommendation it is clear that there is growing unhappiness amongst our members about pay levels in the NHS. The offer included a commitment to fund changes within the pay system. Unless the government follows through on its promises for change, this unhappiness will only increase.
The RCPod will now start to consult with its members in Wales about their pay offer from the Welsh Government.
