Members working in the NHS were asked to vote on the 2025/26 and 2026/27 pay offer from the Scottish government

Members of the Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) who work in NHS Scotland voted in a consultative ballot which closed at midday on Thursday 15 May.

The RCPod had recommended that members accept the offer as the best achievable outcome at this time.

The outcome of the consultation was:

  • Accept: 97.12%
  • Reject: 2.88%

The College will now inform its fellow NHS trade unions of the result and it will contribute to the joint letter to the Cabinet Secretary for Health in the coming days.

The RCPod's Deputy General Secretary, Martin Furlong, said:

“We will be asking the Cabinet Secretary for Health to implement this pay award as soon as possible so that our members receive their backdated pay.

“We look forward to working with the other trade unions supporting NHS members in Scotland to make sure this happens. We thank all the members who voted in the consultation and made their voices heard.”
