Members on the Isle of Man have rejected the latest pay offer from Manx Care. The RCPod will now hold an industrial ballot with its members there on whether to take action.
Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) members on the Isle of Man have voted to reject the pay offer they received1 from Manx Care in a recent consultative ballot. Following that rejection, Council has authorised the running of a ballot for industrial action. The ballot will take place between Monday 23 January 2023 to Wednesday 8 February 2023 and the outcome will determine if RCPod nmembers will take industrial action. The RCPod is in communication with members who work on the Isle of Man to inform them about the industrial ballot and the dates that it is taking place. The RCPod will also make all members aware via its website, all-member newsletters, social media channels and through its workplace representatives.

The RCPod will publish the results of the industrial ballot to its members on the Isle of Man after Wednesday 8 February.

In line with the requirements of Trade Union legislation, the RCPod has informed  Manx Care of its intention to start an industrial ballot and it will also provide them with the results as soon as possible, once they are available.

NHS pay in your area

The UK is split into four nations for NHS pay: England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Each nation operates under varying systems of offers and negotiations. Separate arrangements exist in the Isle of Man for employees of Manx Care.

When an offer or pay award is received, members working for the NHS in the affected country are notified by email and via their workplace representatives and members are consulted on the offer. Notifications are also placed on all RCPod news pages and social media accounts. Frequently checking our news page is the best way to find out the latest news and information from the College. To ensure that you receive our email updates, please make sure your member profile is up-to-date in your profile area on the members' area of the RCPod website, and that you check your registered email is up-to-date with us. If your membership profile is not up-to-date you may not be included in the consultation. If you do not currently receive our fortnightly newsletter and electronic updates, you will not receive them. Notes:
1
There were two offers made:

1) For 2021/22: 4% consolidated pay offer with an additional unconsolidated lump sum of £300 – Rejected by members so this is what the industrial ballot is based on.

2) For 2022/23: 6% consolidated pay increase – Accepted by members so doesn’t form part of any action.
