Volunteer of the Year Award aims to recognise members who has shown exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact in a RCPod volunteering role supporting and advocating for other members and the work of the profession.

Eligibility

Current Royal College of Podiatry volunteer

Awarded for 
  • Demonstrates outstanding skills in advocating for the rights and interests of RCPod members
  • Engaging with and positively impacting their local or wider podiatry community
  • Shows unwavering commitment to the welfare and rights of RCPod members
  • Demonstrating actions and attitudes that reflect the core values of the organisation

How to make a nomination

Nomination statement (max 500 words)

The nominator should have a clear statement addressing:

  • Advocacy for RCPod members: Describe how the nominee has advocated for the rights and interests of fellow members.
  • Impact on local/wider podiatry community: Explain how their volunteering work has benefited their local branch, region, or the wider profession.
  • Commitment to member welfare: Illustrate the nominee’s commitment to supporting and uplifting members.
  • Alignment with RCPod core values: Provide examples of how the nominee embodies the organisation’s core values.
  • Promotion of health equity: Describe how the nominee’s volunteering has addressed or helped reduce health inequalities.
Supporting evidence (required attachments)
  1. One testimonial from a colleague, patient, or peer (max 500 words)
    • Emphasising the nominee’s in advocacy, leadership, community engagement, and promoting equality
  2. Optional supporting document(s) (max 2 items):
    • eg, Letter of support from those impacted by the members work, patient feedback, member feedback, community appreciation
