About the award

The Rising Star Award aims to recognise and encourage up-and-coming podiatrists who show great promise and potential in the early stages of their career.

Eligibility

Members of the Royal College of Podiatry qualified in the last 5 years.

Awarded for
  • Taking on emerging leadership roles
  • Contributing new ideas and approaches to podiatric practice or education
  • Contributing to efforts that raise public awareness about podiatric health issues
  • Commitment to developing towards enhanced/advanced practice

Nominated by employer, colleague or patient.

How to make a nomination

Nomination statement

The nominator must outline how the nominee:

  • Is demonstrating early leadership (eg, leading initiatives, mentoring peers, or representing podiatrists in multidisciplinary or strategic settings)
  • Has contributed new ideas or approaches to practice or education
  • Has been involved in public engagement or activities that raise awareness of podiatric health
  • Shows active commitment to career development, particularly toward enhanced/advanced practice
  • Has worked to address health inequalities (eg, through outreach, inclusive practice, or advocacy)

Where possible, include specific examples and outcomes/impact.

Supporting Evidence (required attachments)
  1. One testimonial from a colleague, line manager, educator or patient (max 500 words)
    • Addressing the nominee's initiative, leadership, or impact
  2. Optional evidence (max 2 items):
    • eg, Examples of work, quality improvement projects, media coverage, publications, social media advocacy, reflective pieces
