About the award

The Rising Star Award aims to recognise and encourage up-and-coming podiatrists who show great promise and potential in the early stages of their career.

Eligibility

Members of the Royal College of Podiatry qualified in the last five years.

Awarded for
  • Taking on emerging leadership roles
  • Contributing new ideas and approaches to podiatric practice or education
  • Contributing to efforts that raise public awareness about podiatric health issues
  • Commitment to developing towards enhanced/advanced practice

Nominated by employer, colleague or patient.

How to make a nomination

Nomination statement

The nominator must outline how the nominee:

  • is demonstrating early leadership (eg, leading initiatives, mentoring peers, or representing podiatrists in multidisciplinary or strategic settings)
  • has contributed new ideas or approaches to practice or education
  • has been involved in public engagement or activities that raise awareness of podiatric health
  • shows active commitment to career development, particularly toward enhanced/advanced practice
  • has worked to address health inequalities (eg, through outreach, inclusive practice, or advocacy)

Where possible, include specific examples and outcomes/impact.

Supporting Evidence (required attachments)
  1. One testimonial from a colleague, line manager, educator or patient (max 500 words)
    • Addressing the nominee's initiative, leadership, or impact
  2. Optional evidence (max 2 items):
    • eg, Examples of work, quality improvement projects, media coverage, publications, social media advocacy, reflective pieces
