About the award

The Diamond Award is presented to individuals who can demonstrate substantial, outstanding and exemplary contribution to the profession of podiatry over a sustained period of time. Award recipients are recognised for their long-standing commitment to quality improvement.

Eligibility

Any member who has made a significant, sustained impact on, or exemplary contribution to, support or advancement of the profession of podiatry (with only 25 living recipients permitted at any time).

Awarded for 
  • Substantial and exemplary contribution to the profession of podiatry over a sustained period 
  • Outstanding service to the podiatry profession 
  • Recognised as eminent or pre-eminent in a given field of professional practice or public service at national or international level

How to make a nomination

Nomination statement (max 1,000 words)

The nominator should provide a comprehensive account of the nominee’s career and contributions, including:

  • Duration and breadth of service: Career history, milestones, and length of contribution to the podiatry profession
  • Substantial and exemplary contribution: Specific achievements that have shaped or advanced the field
  • Outstanding service: Roles in leadership, advocacy, teaching, mentoring, or strategic development
  • National/international recognition: Evidence of eminence, such as awards, honours, keynote roles, or influence in shaping national or international policy or practice
  • Legacy and impact: Long-term outcomes of the nominee’s work and influence on the profession or public health
Supporting evidence (required attachments)
  1. Two testimonials (max 500 words each)
    • One from a senior professional or peer
    • One from a mentee, colleague, or stakeholder impacted by the nominee’s work
  2. Optional evidence (max 2 items):
    • eg, Publications, media features, awards, letters of recognition, conference programmes, service evaluations
