About the award

This Student of the Year Award (pre-registration) will be granted in recognition of a student member who has demonstrated outstanding performance and contribution in various aspects of their education and professional development.

Each podiatry school can nominate their own Podiatry Student of the Year; all the winners are then put forward to the College’s national award.

  • A strong dedication to the field of podiatry, its advancement, and professional development

How to make a nomination

Nomination statement

The nominator should provide a clear statement addressing:

  • How the student has demonstrated exceptional clinical skill (with specific examples from placement settings)
  • How they have shown excellent communication and interpersonal skills (eg, with patients, colleagues, or in team settings)
  • Evidence of the student’s dedication to the profession (eg, involvement in research, voluntary work, contributions to professional events, student leadership, or CPD)
  • The nominee’s overall impact or influence within the course or wider professional setting
Supporting evidence (required attachments)
  • One testimonial from a clinical educator or placement supervisor (max 500 words)
    • Commenting on clinical skill, professionalism, and interaction with patients and staff
  • Optional evidence (max 2 documents):
    • eg, Poster/presentation abstracts, certificates, evidence of event participation, written reflection, etc.
