How to get the most out of the Summer Festival of Learning
The College’s Summer Festival of Learning is here!
Join us live on Wednesday 23 June from 5.30-7.30pm, and again on Saturday 26 June from 11.30am-2.45pm. Or ticket holders can catch up with the sessions for a month after the event.
Here’s your handy guide on how to access the event and to get the most out of it.
Set up your profile
Just like with a face-to-face event, virtual events can be a great place to network. You can update your Hopin profile with your name, job role and photo before the event. Just log in and visit your profile section.
Visit the exhibition area
We have a virtual trade show filled with booths at the Summer Festival of Learning. You can find out about the services they provide, request further information from the company or schedule a video call during the event. Many exhibitors have special offers and promotions exclusive to the event, so make sure to check them all out during your visit.
Top Tip:
You will be able to chat live with booth representatives (if available) using the on-screen functions; this is a great way to catch up with the ambassadors from our sponsors about their latest products.
Watch the event live
The Summer Festival of Learning is being hosted live on our partner site Hopin, a global leader in virtual conferences. To join the event, log in to Hopin.com using the email address you registered with, and the event will appear as an option. The presentations start at 5.30pm on the Wednesday and 11.30am on the Saturday. You can access the event 10 minutes before this to make sure you don’t miss out.
Top Tip:
You can log in to Hopin at any point before the event. Why not log in now to check that you have your email address and password correct to save delays on the day.
Which browser is best?
Not all browsers are created equal. Make sure to view on a browser or device that is compatible with the event to avoid frustration.
The best way to view is on a laptop or desktop computer using either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. These browser types are all free and often come pre-installed on computer equipment. Other browsers will work; however, Microsoft Edge/Internet Explorer or Safari for desktops may not be fully compatible and may disrupt your viewing.
You can download the Hopin mobile app for free if you use a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet. Alternatively, you can use your mobile browser such as Google Chrome on Android or Safari on iPad and iPhone.
Watch on catch-up
The Summer Festival of Learning will be available on catch-up for one month after the event. The College will send details to members after the Summer Festival of Learning has concluded. Catch-up services are being hosted on the College’s learning platform TALUS and will only be accessible by ticket holders.
Get your attendance certificate
The College will contact attendees after the event with details on how you can provide feedback and access your CPD certificate.
Troubleshooting
- Hopin doesn’t recognise my email address
On buying your ticket, you entered an email address and created an account. The system sent a booking confirmation to the email address you entered at the checkout.
If you paid by Apple Pay, your device may have used an Apple Pay ID email to process the billing. We are unable to alter the email address you used to register for the event. For Hopin account enquiries, please contact support@hopin.com. - I’ve forgotten my Hopin password
Use the ‘Forgot Password’ process on the Hopin website to gain access to your account.
- I haven’t received my booking email
Emails were sent automatically by Hopin at the point of purchase to the email address you used to register for the event. Reminder emails will be sent out 24 hours before the event and one hour before the event start time. The College is unable to reissue booking emails. If you have not received these, then please check your spam/junk email folder for your copy. You can log in to your Hopin account without the booking email, just use the email address you entered when you bought the ticket.
- I’m logged in to Hopin and I can’t see the event
All your registered events should be on your home page when you log in to the Hopin site. You can access the event 10 minutes before the start time of the session. The session times are Wednesday 23 June 5.30–7.30pm and Saturday 26 June 11.30am-2.45pm. The event will show up as ‘LIVE’ when the presentations are running. You should be able to access the stage at any time during the live sessions and view the presentation. If you cannot, check your browser or device is compatible using the guide above or try logging off and logging on again. - I’m trying to replay the presentations on Hopin. Why won’t this work?
If you haven’t been able to join the Summer Festival of Learning live then a catch-up service is available. This will be hosted on the College’s website after the event has ended. All ticket holders will get details on how to view the sessions in an email after the Summer Festival of Learning has concluded.
