The Royal College of Podiatry publishes NHS Scotland pay results
Members voted to narrowly reject the offer of 5% from the Scottish government
The Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) recently consulted with its NHS members in Scotland about the Scottish government’s pay offer for 2022/23.
The pay offer for Scotland was a 5% uplift on all pay points. The College would like to thank its members who participated in this consultation and for providing their views.
The consultation on NHS Pay in Scotland has now closed, and we have heard our members' voices on this issue.
Those who wished to accept the offer of 5%; (49.65%)
Those who wished to reject the offer of 5%; (50.35%)
The turnout was 31%.
The RCPod’s NHS members in Scotland have voted to reject the offer, but by a narrow margin and on a turnout that would not meet the legal threshold for an industrial action ballot as laid out by the Trade Union Act 2016 (which stipulates a minimum 50% turnout and 40% support, as well as a simple majority).
The RCPod can confirm, however, that the Trade Unions in Scotland have rejected the Scottish government’s pay offer.
The RCPod will consider its position over the coming weeks. During this time, the College will continue listening to its members and its Trade Union reps in Scotland.
The RCPod will continue to work with all the other health unions in Scotland to improve the terms and conditions of its members.
