Royal College of Podiatry Strategy 2025-2030 – Consultation Feedback

During the summer of 2024, we shared the RCPod’s draft strategy with our membership and stakeholders and asked for feedback to inform and enrich our activation plans.

We have been delighted with the scale and quality of the response. Many people took the time and care to consider the aims, objectives and strategic objectives and respond with detailed comments and suggestions – over 2,000 of them.   

There is clearly a lot of passion and drive to move the profession forward. But, as I am sure we all know, it will be hard, it will take time and we all need to work together to bring this strategy to life. It is not a document created to gather dust on the shelf. It’s a live strategy that will evolve and develop to deliver on our ambition to grow the profession.

Here, we share an analysis that pulls out the key themes and illustrates a sample of the responses. What we will do now is review the strategy document to ensure we have considered these key themes and update it where relevant.

We have also put together a detailed ‘ideas bank’ to keep track of all the suggested activities not currently included in our plans. These ideas are grouped by objective, so we can link them to different projects as we roll out the strategy over the next five years.

Through this process and feedback from committees and groups, we have identified some further activities that we need to undertake by the end of 2024.

• We will provide further explanation of the purpose, mission and values of the RCPod, including clarity around our sphere of influence
• We will include more insight on the state of the independent sector and the activities needed to help it thrive
• We will update the strategy to reflect the activities that have already commenced
• We will redesign the full document to make it more accessible
• As well as the full document, we will produce a shorter document for wider use
• We will publish the feedback report on the website alongside the strategy documentation
• We will update our budget forecasts in line with changes to inflation.
