Over 82% of NHS members in Scotland voted to accept the 6.5% pay offer

The Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) consulted with its NHS members in Scotland over a proposed 6.5% pay uplift for 2023/24. Most will receive that, as well as one-off payment of between £387 and £939 (pro rata). The consultation closed on Monday 20 March at 5pm.

The result was an overwhelming acceptance of the pay offer:

  • Accept – 82.91%
  • Reject – 17.01%

Therefore, the RCPod’s formal position will to be accept this offer. The RCPod has informed the other NHS unions of this outcome. All the other NHS trade unions were also in support of accepting the offer. As such, a letter on behalf of the joint trade unions was sent to the Scottish government on Tuesday 21 March so that the uplift can be paid in the April salary.
