RCPod advises members on next steps as Shuropody enters liquidation
It was recently announced that liquidators have been appointed
The Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) is deeply saddened to hear that Shuropody, a trading entity of Sole Biz Ltd, has gone into liquidation thus ending the employment of many of the RCPod's members. The RCPod's Employment Relations team has tried regularly to contact representatives of Shuropody but at the time of publication there has been no response.
The RCPod’s Employment Relations team has been actively supporting members through the recent changes at the company and every effort is being made to continue that support in this next phase. The RCPod is aware that FRS Recovery has been appointed as liquidators for Shuropody (Sole Biz Ltd) and those affected should have been contacted by FRS Recovery direct, with a letter from Tom Brown, Director of Sole Biz Ltd and a RP1 factsheet.
The RCPod has sought advice from its legal team on this matter which is as follows:
“Members will need to claim as much as they can from the government's insolvency service, as set out in the RP1 factsheet. All queries should be directed to the liquidators, FTS Recovery, who owe a duty to act in the best interests not just of the company but also the RCPod’s members as creditors, so they shouldn't be afraid to speak to them and ask them for help in making their claims for debts that are owed.”
Members who were employed by Shuropody can claim for any unpaid wages, contractual notice, redundancy pay, unused annual leave and unpaid expenses. Before any claim can be made, a CN number (case reference number) is required. This can be supplied by FTS Recovery. If you have not already received this number, please contact Natasha Phillimore at natasha.phillimore@ftsrecovery.co.uk. Full details on how to claim are on the RP1 factsheet.
