The Scottish government has put forward the pay deal, and the College will now consider its response

The Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) has received a pay offer of between 3.33% and 7.14% from the Scottish government for its NHS members working in Scotland which also includes a non-consolidated lump sum*.

The RCPod will now follow its standard internal processes on receiving a formal pay offer before responding. This process will include consulting with NHS members in Scotland about the deal.

Acting General Secretary of the Royal College of Podiatry, Martin Furlong, said:

“We were a part of the negotiations with the Scottish government for the 2023/2024 pay offer, and we note the offer of a pay uplift of between 3.33% and 7.14% which will provide a 6.5% uplift for most of our members as well as a one-off lump sum payment. We will now follow our standard internal processes before responding. This includes consulting with our members in Scotland about the offer. We will keep our NHS members in Scotland informed.”

*A lump sum/ one-off lump sum payment, sometimes described as a non-consolidated payment. A non-consolidated payment is a one-off payment which does not increase your overall salary or scale point value.

The additional one-off payment for 2022/23, will be worked out as the equivalent to three calendar months’ value of the difference between the 2022/23 and the 2023/24 pay rates calculated on an employee’s basic rate of pay and will be paid on a pro rata basis.”
