Changes to the pay and conditions for NHS staff covered by the Agenda for Change agreement in Scotland welcomed
NHS Scotland employers have been notified by the Scottish Government of changes to the pay of staff covered by the Agenda for Change agreement from 1 December 2020, as well as outlining the last set of changes to the Agenda for Change pay structure agreed as part of Scotland’s 2018 Agenda for Change pay deal.
The CoP welcomed the Scottish Government’s decision to implement the £500 bonus and is pleased to note the endeavours to put money into our members' pockets through a 1% payment on account, which will be effective from 1 December 2020.
The CoP will endeavour to get more for our members through the proposed negotiations. Whilst our preference would have been to allow for negotiations to have taken their full course before any announcement, we appreciate some of the problems in the current pandemic. We would call on the Scottish Government to arrange the negotiations as soon as possible to provide a substantial pay rise for our members. The NHS Unions in Scotland, including the CoP, are meeting to discuss this letter.
