The Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) is delighted to announce the appointment of Jane Pritchard as its new Chief Executive Officer and General Secretary

Jane arrives with a wealth of experience as a senior executive in professional bodies, and in the public and private sector. She joins the RCPod from the Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine (ACB), where she has been its Chief Executive since 2019. Jane was responsible for making the ACB the key voice of laboratory medicine, professionally developing healthcare scientists and representing their interests with government, industry, and patients. Jane currently serves as a Member on the Board of Trustees at the Science Council and has held several Director and non-Executive Board Member roles over a 32-year career.

Commenting on the appointment, the Chairman of the Royal College of Podiatry, Michelle Scott said:

"I am delighted to welcome Jane as our new Chief Executive. She has a wealth of experience leading organisations and creating real and lasting change. We carried out a robust recruitment process and we saw several strong candidates for the position. I am confident that Jane has the vision and abilities to lead the RCPod into the future. I look forward to welcoming her when she starts work on 3 July.”

Jane Pritchard said:

“I am pleased and excited to join such a great and progressive Royal College. I am looking forward to working with Council, members, staff, and volunteers to enhance the support and services that the RCPod’s 10,000 members receive – all of whom work in such diverse and important ways across independent practice, the NHS and in research and academia. I look forward to stewarding the College, in close collaboration with the elected Council, in the years ahead.”

Jane will take up the role of RCPod Chief Executive on 3 July 2023.
