The Scottish Government has put forward the pay deal, and the College will now consider its response

The Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) has received a pay offer of 5.5% from the Scottish Government for its NHS members working in Scotland.

The RCPod will now follow its standard internal processes on receiving a formal pay offer before responding. This process will include consulting with NHS members in Scotland about the deal.

Head of Employment Relations, Education and Professional Support, Martin Furlong, said:

“We were a part of the negotiations with the Scottish Government for the 2024/2025 pay offer, and we note the offer of a pay uplift of 5.5%. We will now follow our standard internal processes before responding. This includes consulting with our members in Scotland about the offer and we will be writing to our NHS members in Scotland shortly. We will continue to keep our NHS members in Scotland informed.”

NHS pay in your area

The UK is split into four nations for NHS pay: England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Each nation operates under varying systems of offers and negotiations. Separate arrangements exist in the Isle of Man for employees of Manx Care.

When an offer or pay award is received, members working for the NHS in the affected country are notified by email and via their workplace representatives and members are consulted on the offer. Notifications are also placed on all RCPod news pages and social media accounts. Frequently checking our news page is the best way to find out the latest news and information from the College.
